April 2010 IRR Mobilization Exemption UpdatePosted: April 13, 2010
Some additional activity from St. Louis in the last week: You can reach us on the phone during business hours — 0830 to 1730 Monday thru Friday (214.363.1828), or via confidential email after hours and on weekends: email@example.com
1. Friday, 9 April 10: Received word from a Soldier’s spouse that his intial IRR exemption request — which they submitted on their own — had been disapproved by the Commander HRC, St. Louis. We reviewed relevant issues and possibilities for an appeal;
2. Saturday, 10 April 10: Heard from a former client that his IRR exemption appeal — which he decided to submit on his own — had been disapproved by HRC Alexandria on 9 April 10;
3. Today, Tuesday, 13 April 10: Received word from a Soldier that his IRR mobilization order was cut 8 April 2010 with a report date of 9 May 2010 — less than 30 days from today. We discussed options for further action.
Also, there may be another wrinkle to the appeal process which, as far as I can tell, has not been published in official Army IRR Delay and Exemption guidance which comes with the orders packet. Have not, as yet, verified the change, but don’t hesitate to call our offices if you have need for help with either an initial IRR mobilization exemption request, or an appeal from one denied. As stated above, you can reach us on the phone during business hours — 0830 to 1730 Monday thru Friday (214 363-1828), or via confidential email after hours and on weekends: firstname.lastname@example.org
